Old Parliament House

The Parliament House on Capital Hill in Canberra is an impressive Australian landmark - steeped in history and the seat of political power for over 60 years. The building was included in the National Heritage List in 2006. Today, hundreds of thousands of people explore this living Museum of Australian Democracy every year.

Our distributor Luxygen from ACT, was approached by the MoAD Heritage team to upgrade the heritage luminaires, including the original large pendants in the King's Hall and the Senate Chambers. The alterations had to be completed on-site without removing the fittings from the ceiling due to their heritage nature.

The Parliament House also serves as a venue for exhibitions, concerts and events. To offer the highest flexibility, the solution for the LED upgrade was a DALI dimmable, high lumen package with excellent colour rendering, a very smooth and even illumination. In addition to the 3000K white LED lights during regular museum hours, the DMX controlled RGBW provides many more opportunities for this multi-purpose venue space.
