Vivid 2017 - 2 weeks to go...
2 weeks are remaining for all Vivid artists to prepare their installations for this year's Vivid Sydney festival.

"Under My Umbrella" team gathered at 3S Lighting today to prepare their parts and pre-configure & test XIM Gen4 modules.
With some weekend work ahead, the team will meet again next week to complete the final assemblies to be taken to site and installed on 22 May.
Big thanks to Rob, Ray, Zdenek, Josh and all other 3S staff from engineering, spray & other departments for their assistance in producing all necessary components.

About the installation
Under My Umbrella
Artists: Bettina Easton, Colin Shum, Grace Tham, Ales Vasenda
Under My Umbrella invites you to dream and dance under a glowing canopy as it sways gently in the wind.
The canopy is made up of a mass of magical umbrellas that dim and glow as you dance beneath them. This whimsical installation also casts a sea of dots on the laneway below, enveloping dancers in light.
Visitors can download the XIMtroller app to choreograph the canopy and the installation also communicates to people’s smart devices when they are nearby via iBeacon and PhyWeb.
The installation has a simple message: “Come join us and dance the night away –
Under My Umbrella! ”https://www.vividsydney.com/event/light/under-my-umbrella
