St. Jakobi Fortified Church

St. Jakobi Fortified Church
This 15th century village church with fortifications was fitted with state-of-the-art LED technology during recent renovation work.

There was a clear set of requirements for the project: Choir music notes should be easy to read without the light being too bright or dazzling. The lighting also needed to be unobtrusive. The concept that lighting designer Wolfgang Engelhardt came up with shows how modern lighting design can be combined with a historic setting. Mouth-blown Ring of Fire luminaires fit in harmoniously with the modest overall feel of the church. The award-winning design of the ring luminaires provide direct and indirect gentle lighting in the atmospheric church interior.
